Dr David Palmieri

Dr David Palmieri is a highly dedicated Consultant Medical Oncologist and Physician who provides compassionate, patient-centred care. He is committed to delivering comprehensive cancer care, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure that each patient receives a personalised and coordinated treatment plan. Reassuring and professional, Dr Palmieri focuses on supporting patients and their families through every stage of their cancer journey, prioritising clear communication and clinical excellence.

His clinical practice encompasses a broad range of oncological conditions, with particular expertise in melanoma, skin cancers, and thoracic and gastrointestinal malignancies. Dr Palmieri also has a strong clinical interest in urological and breast cancers. In addition to treating primary tumours, he specialises in the complex management of side effects associated with modern cancer treatments, particularly immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy. His approach combines the latest evidence-based therapies with supportive care to optimise patient outcomes and quality of life.

Dr Palmieri completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at James Cook University, qualifying in 2011. He subsequently undertook extensive postgraduate training, culminating in a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2018. Alongside his clinical work, Dr Palmieri is an enthusiastic Medical Educator and holds an academic appointment as an Associate Professor, contributing to the training of future Medical Practitioners and participating in clinical research.
