Dr David Links is an Upper Gastrointestinal, Bariatric and General Surgeon in Sydney with a particular interest in minimally invasive surgery. His practice includes the surgical management of reflux and hiatus hernia, oesophageal and stomach conditions, pancreatic and gallbladder disease, abdominal wall hernias and weight-loss surgery.
He graduated with Honours from the University of New South Wales in 2002 and completed general surgical training at Prince of Wales and Bankstown Hospitals. After gaining Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2012, Dr Links undertook a three-year accredited ANZGOSA fellowship, developing further expertise in foregut, bariatric and upper gastrointestinal surgery. He then spent a year at the Northern Oesophagogastric Cancer Unit in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, focusing on the surgical and endoscopic management of oesophageal and gastric cancer.
Dr Links also has an active role in surgical quality and education. He contributes to national quality programmes, clinical audit and journal review, and supervises junior doctors and surgical trainees at Prince of Wales Hospital. His academic training includes a Master of Surgery from the University of Sydney, completed with research into quality benchmarks in pancreatic cancer surgery.
