Dr. Darshan Ghia

Dr. Darshan Ghia is a highly qualified Consultant Neurologist who specialises in general neurology, stroke, and cerebrovascular diseases. With a patient-centred approach, Dr. Ghia is dedicated to providing comprehensive and compassionate care for adults experiencing a wide range of neurological conditions. He is particularly interested in the management of acute stroke and the transition of care for patients with chronic neurological issues.

Dr. Ghia obtained his primary medical qualifications, graduating with an Honours degree in Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS Hons), followed by a Doctor of Medicine (MD) and a Diplomate of National Board (DNB). He completed his specialist neurology training in Melbourne, before undertaking further advanced fellowship and sub-speciality training in stroke and interventional neurology in Sydney. Dr. Ghia is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP).

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Ghia is actively involved in medical research, education, and leadership. He serves as the Head of a public stroke unit in Western Australia and acts as a Principal Investigator for several clinical trials. He is a Board Member of the Neurological Council of Western Australia and contributes to numerous state-wide and national committees, including the Australia New Zealand Stroke Organisation, the Australasian Stroke Trials Network, and the Australian Stroke Clinical Registry. He is also a Clinical Senior Lecturer, helping to train the next generation of medical professionals.
