Dr Damon Batts

Dr Damon Batts is a dedicated Consultant Psychiatrist who provides compassionate, outpatient psychiatric care to adults. He adopts a patient-centred approach to mental health, focusing on the critical role of medication in treating mental illness while incorporating evidence-based practices within a holistic framework. Dr Batts works collaboratively with Psychologists and other Care Providers to ensure that each patient receives comprehensive, tailored support that addresses their unique well-being.

Throughout his career, Dr Batts has gained diverse experience across both public and private mental health services. His clinical background spans General Adult, Old Age, Perinatal, Consultation Liaison, and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. He is particularly interested in the assessment and treatment of depression, ADHD, adjustment disorders, and cognitive disorders. Additionally, he has a strong focus on managing various anxiety disorders, including generalised anxiety, social anxiety, panic, and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Dr Batts completed his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacology before pursuing his medical degree, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Griffith University in 2012. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP). Committed to continuous professional development, he has also undertaken advanced subspecialty training, completing a Certificate of Advanced Training in Psychiatry of Old Age to further support older adults facing complex mental health challenges.
