Dr Damien Lafferty

Dr Damien Lafferty is a highly qualified and Commonwealth-accredited Podiatric Surgeon who specialises in advanced foot and ankle care. With a patient-centred approach, he is dedicated to diagnosing and treating a wide range of complex foot and ankle conditions. Dr Lafferty aims to educate his patients about their specific concerns, working collaboratively with them to establish tailored treatment programmes that restore mobility and alleviate discomfort. His clinical focus spans reconstructive foot surgery, sports-related injuries, and the management of chronic deformities.

Throughout his career, Dr Lafferty has gained extensive experience across both public and private healthcare sectors in Australia and the United Kingdom. His diverse background includes providing specialised podiatric care to elite athletes, having served as a Podiatrist for national athletic organisations and Olympic teams. In addition to his clinical work, he has contributed significantly to the education of future practitioners, serving as a Lecturer and Clinical Supervisor at the tertiary level, where he has been responsible for training and supervising podiatric surgery registrars.

Dr Lafferty completed his foundational training at Curtin University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Podiatry in 1988. He pursued further postgraduate education at the same institution, obtaining a Postgraduate Diploma in Health Science in Advanced Podiatry in 1992 and a Master of Science in 1997. In the same year, he attained his fellowship with the Australasian College of Podiatric Surgeons. Dr Lafferty is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Podiatric Surgeons and the Academy of Minimally Invasive Foot and Ankle Surgery. He is also an International Affiliate of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, a Member of the Australian Podiatry Association, and is registered with the Podiatry Board of Australia.
