Cassandra Thomson

Dr Cassandra Thomson is a highly dedicated Clinical Psychologist who provides compassionate, evidence-based mental health care. She specialises in supporting individuals navigating a diverse range of psychological challenges, with a particular focus on older adult mental health and neurological conditions. Thomson adopts a warm, collaborative approach, tailoring her therapeutic interventions to meet the unique needs of each client. She is passionate about helping individuals, carers, and families find clarity, build resilience, and improve their overall emotional well-being.

Thomson completed her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Monash University in 2020. Her doctoral research investigated the lived experiences of deep brain stimulation in both neurological and psychiatric contexts, focusing on its impact on personality, self, and relationships. She is a registered Clinical Psychologist and a Board-approved Supervisor with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. Additionally, she is an active professional member, serving as a Committee Member for the Australian Psychological Society's Psychology and Ageing Interest Group.

Throughout her career, Thomson has gained extensive experience across inpatient, outpatient, and private practice settings. She has led the delivery of mental health services for older adults and facilitated specialised therapy programmes for individuals living with dementia in residential aged care. Alongside her clinical practice, she is an active academic Lecturer and Researcher, focusing on psychosocial interventions for neurological disorders, carer well-being, and dementia care.
