Dr Brett Chandler

Dr Brett Chandler is a highly qualified Anaesthetist and Specialist Pain Medicine Physician who is dedicated to providing comprehensive, compassionate care to patients experiencing persistent pain. With a dual focus on anaesthesia and pain medicine, he works closely with individuals to develop tailored treatment pathways that address both the physical and emotional aspects of chronic pain. His clinical approach is deeply collaborative, aiming to empower patients through education and active self-management strategies.

Dr Chandler completed his medical degree at the University of Tasmania in 1999. Following his initial graduation, he undertook extensive postgraduate training across various medical institutions in Australia and the United Kingdom. He completed advanced specialty training in both anaesthetics and pain medicine, culminating in a specialised fellowship in pain management in 2011. In 2012, he was admitted as a Fellow of the Faculty of Pain Medicine, Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists. Alongside his clinical practice, he is actively involved in medical education, teaching and mentoring medical students, Anaesthetic Registrars, and Pain Medicine Fellows.

In his clinical practice, Dr Chandler maintains a strong interest in managing complex pain conditions, particularly persistent pain following back surgery, neuropathic pain, and pain management in elderly patients. He utilises a multidisciplinary framework to individualise care, combining pharmacological therapies, interventional procedures, psychological support, and patient education. By addressing the unique needs of each patient, he strives to help individuals reduce their pain, restore physical function, and significantly improve their overall quality of life.
