Dr Boon Ham

Dr Boon Ham is a highly regarded Ophthalmic Surgeon who provides comprehensive medical and surgical eye care for both adult and paediatric patients. Dr Ham completed his medical degree, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Western Australia in 1991. Following his graduation, he embarked on extensive postgraduate training in ophthalmology, gaining valuable experience as a Senior House Officer in England. He then completed his registrar training at a major eye hospital in Sydney, before pursuing advanced fellowship training. This included a fellowship in glaucoma in Cheltenham, England, and a specialist registrar fellowship in Cambridge, England, where he focused on paediatric patients with rare genetic eye conditions. Dr Ham is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO).

In his clinical practice, Dr Ham manages a diverse range of eye conditions. His areas of expertise include cataract surgery, refractive lens exchange, and medical and surgical glaucoma management. He is also highly skilled in performing pterygium surgery with conjunctival grafts, strabismus (squint) surgery for adults and children, and eyelid surgeries such as ectropion and entropion repair, as well as lid tumour management. Additionally, Dr Ham provides advanced treatments for retinal diseases, including laser procedures and intravitreal injections for diabetic retinopathy, retinal vein occlusions, and macular degeneration.
