Dr Benjamin Freeman

Dr Benjamin Freeman is a highly qualified and dedicated Consultant Anaesthetist who provides comprehensive anaesthetic care for patients undergoing a wide range of surgical procedures. With a patient-centred approach, Dr Freeman is committed to ensuring the highest standards of safety, comfort, and reassurance throughout the entire perioperative journey. He works closely with surgical teams to tailor anaesthetic plans to the unique needs of each individual, helping to alleviate anxiety and optimise post-operative recovery.

Throughout his career, Dr Freeman has developed extensive expertise in several key areas of anaesthesia. His clinical interests include orthopaedic and regional anaesthesia, difficult airway management, and anaesthesia for ear, nose, and throat (ENT) procedures. Additionally, he is highly skilled in providing anaesthetic care for complex oncological and gastrointestinal surgeries. Dr Freeman's dedication to perioperative medicine ensures that patients receive meticulous care before, during, and after their surgical procedures.

Dr Freeman completed his medical degree with Honours, obtaining a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS (Hons)), and later earned a Master of Medicine in Perioperative Medicine. He completed his specialist anaesthetic training predominantly at a major tertiary referral hospital in Melbourne, followed by advanced fellowships at a leading paediatric hospital and a prominent cancer centre. To further refine his skills, he spent a year in the United Kingdom at a prestigious university hospital, focusing on regional anaesthesia and difficult airway management. Dr Freeman is a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) and actively participates in their continuing professional development programme. He is also an active member of the Australian Society of Anaesthetists (ASA) and the Victorian Anaesthetic Group.
