Mrs Atika Balasem

Mrs Atika Balasem is a dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner based in Liverpool, Australia. She is committed to providing comprehensive, patient-centred care to individuals and families at all stages of life, from newborns to senior citizens. Mrs Balasem strongly believes that the most rewarding aspect of General Practice is the opportunity to build long-term relationships and offer continuity of care across multiple generations. Mrs Balasem completed her medical education and graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery in 1996. Demonstrating her commitment to clinical excellence, she successfully met the standards of the Australian Medical Council and went on to achieve her Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) in 2015. To ensure her patients receive the highest standard of evidence-based medicine, she regularly attends scientific seminars and professional workshops to keep her clinical skills and knowledge up to date.

With a broad range of clinical expertise, Mrs Balasem has developed a particular interest in women's health, antenatal care, and cervical screening. In addition to managing chronic and sub-acute conditions, she is highly skilled in performing various minor clinical procedures. These include skin cancer excisions, suturing, the removal of foreign bodies, as well as the insertion and removal of Implanon contraceptive devices and the removal of Mirena.
