Dr Anton Antonov

Dr Anton Antonov is a highly dedicated Respiratory and Sleep Physician who provides comprehensive care for patients experiencing a wide range of lung and sleep-related conditions. With a clinical focus that spans both respiratory and sleep medicine, he is committed to delivering personalised, evidence-based treatment. Dr Antonov has a particular interest in the management of complex conditions such as lung cancer, asthma, bronchiectasis, and various sleep disorders. His patient-centred approach ensures that individuals receive thorough diagnostic evaluations and tailored management plans to improve their overall quality of life and respiratory health.

Prior to embarking on his medical career, Dr Antonov graduated with first-class Honours in Pharmacy from Monash University, which fostered his deep interest in the latest pharmaceuticals and the highly effective use of medicines. He went on to complete his medical degree, obtaining his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). Dr Antonov is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and a Fellow of The Thoracic Society of Australia & New Zealand (TSANZ). In addition to his clinical practice, he is actively involved in medical education, sharing his expertise as a Teaching Associate at a prominent university medical school, and remains engaged in state-of-the-art clinical trials.

In his daily practice, Dr Antonov manages a diverse spectrum of respiratory issues, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), pulmonary fibrosis, lung infections, chronic cough, and vocal cord dysfunction. He is highly skilled in interventional pulmonology, performing advanced diagnostic procedures such as bronchoscopy, endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) biopsies, and flexible nasal endoscopy to investigate abnormal chest scans and lung pathologies. Furthermore, his expertise extends to sleep medicine, where he diagnoses and treats sleep apnoea, narcolepsy, restless leg syndrome, and circadian rhythm disorders, utilising both home-based and laboratory-based sleep studies to guide his therapeutic decisions.
