Dr Josey completed his formal dental education at The University of Queensland, graduating with a Bachelor of Dental Science in 1991. Following his graduation, he gained valuable experience working as a Regional Dental Officer within government school dental services, serving communities in both Townsville and Ipswich. He later transitioned into private practice, where he has continued to expand his clinical expertise. Dr Josey remains an active member of the Australian Dental Association and regularly attends educational courses to stay at the forefront of modern dental advancements.

Throughout his career, Dr Josey has developed a diverse range of clinical interests and specialised skills. In addition to general dental care and dental surgery, he is one of the few practitioners qualified to design and construct custom anti-snoring devices. His creative and patient-centred approach also extends to crafting specialised ear plugs for patients with ear grommets, providing targeted oral pain relief, and holding a licence to perform laser dentistry. He is also experienced in offering Invisalign consultations to help patients achieve aligned smiles, as well as performing gentle teeth extractions and providing immediate dentures.
