Dr Sophie Jayamaha

Dr Sophie Jayamaha is a Consultant Anaesthetist, Lifestyle Medicine Physician, and Mindfulness Practitioner based in Brisbane. She completed her medical degree at Colombo University in Sri Lanka in 1983, subsequently migrated to UK in 1986 for further studies. After she completed her Specialist Training in Anaesthesia in the UK she was appointed as a Consultant Anaesthetist in the NHS (UK) in 1998. As a specialist in the UK, Dr Jayamaha specialised in anaesthesia, intensive care, and perioperative medicine.

Relocating to Australia in 2008, Dr Jayamaha joined Queensland Health, where she has continued to make a significant impact on the wellbeing of individuals. She is a Fellow of the Faculty of Anaesthetists of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists.

In 2019, Dr Jayamaha achieved recognition as an International Board Certified Physician in Lifestyle Medicine, recognised by the Australian Society of Lifestyle Medicine. Following this, in 2022, she earned accreditation in Life Coaching, further expanding her capabilities in guiding individuals towards a healthier and more fulfilling life.

Driven by the principles of returning to health, love, and freedom, Dr Jayamaha's coaching services aim to empower individuals to overcome limitations. Her promise is to assist in reversing lifestyle-related chronic diseases, achieving SMART goals, and treating stress-related symptoms without the need for medications.
