Dr Alok Jhamb

Dr Alok Jhamb is a highly qualified Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in surgery of the hand, wrist, and shoulder. With a dedicated focus on upper limb conditions, he provides comprehensive care for patients experiencing a wide range of musculoskeletal issues. Dr Jhamb is committed to delivering personalised, patient-centred treatment plans, utilising both non-surgical and advanced surgical techniques to restore function and alleviate pain. His clinical expertise encompasses microsurgery, arthroscopic procedures, and open reconstructive surgeries of the upper extremity.

Dr Jhamb completed his medical education at the University of Queensland, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 1994. Following his initial medical training, he undertook extensive specialist training in various hospitals across Queensland, culminating in a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2004. To further refine his skills, he completed post-fellowship training in hand, wrist, and microsurgery in Sydney, followed by a dedicated shoulder fellowship focusing on both arthroscopic and open surgical techniques. He has also completed advanced microsurgical training internationally in Singapore.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Jhamb is actively involved in medical education, teaching Medical Students and training Junior Doctors and Registrars. He is a Fellow of the Australian Orthopaedic Association and has been certified as an Examiner with the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners. Dr Jhamb maintains active membership in several professional organisations, including the Australian Hand Surgery Society, the Queensland Hand Surgery Society, the Queensland Shoulder and Elbow Society, and the Medicolegal Society of Queensland. He regularly participates in continuing professional development to ensure his patients receive the highest standard of evidence-based care.
