Dr Allan Davies

Dr Allan Davies is a Consultant Interventional and Structural Cardiologist practicing in Newcastle and the Hunter Region, NSW. Graduating in medicine from the University of Queensland in 2009 following undergraduate degrees in Commerce and Science, he completed basic physician training and advanced cardiology training within the Hunter New England Health Network, earning Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in 2017. He subsequently undertook an advanced interventional fellowship at Royal Brompton Hospital in London, specializing in complex coronary interventions and transcatheter structural heart therapies.

Dr Davies brings extensive expertise to the non-surgical management of coronary and valvular heart disease. His clinical practice focuses on diagnostic coronary angiography, complex percutaneous coronary intervention (coronary stenting or PCI), Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI or TAVR), and Transcatheter Edge to Edge Repair (mitral TEER and tricuspid TEER), paravalvular leak closure.

Academically active, Dr Davies serves as an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Newcastle, an Editorial Fellow for Heart, Lung and Circulation, and a Board Reviewer for the European Heart Journal. He is heavily involved in medical education as an Educational Supervisor for cardiology advanced trainees at John Hunter Hospital and an accredited Advanced Life Support (ALS) instructor for the Australian Resuscitation Council.
