Dr Alexandra Gallagher

Dr Alexandra Gallagher is a highly dedicated Nephrologist and Renal Specialist who provides comprehensive, patient-centred care for individuals living with kidney disease. With a clinical approach focused on delivering tailored, evidence-based treatments, she is committed to helping patients manage complex renal conditions and improve their overall quality of life. Dr Gallagher has a particular interest in blood pressure control, chronic kidney disease management, and supporting women experiencing blood pressure issues during pregnancy, ensuring they receive continuous, supportive care before, during, and after delivery.

Dr Gallagher graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine from the University of Newcastle in 2012 and completed her specialist training in renal medicine in 2019. She also holds a Master of Medicine in Clinical Leadership and Management from the University of Newcastle and is currently undertaking a PhD at the University of Sydney, focusing her research on blood pressure control and chronic kidney disease. Dr Gallagher is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians (FRACP) and is an active member of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Nephrology.

In addition to her clinical practice, Dr Gallagher is deeply involved in medical education and research. She plays an active role in training the next generation of healthcare professionals, teaching both Medical Students and Physician Trainees. As a forward-thinking Staff Specialist, she also leads initiatives aimed at reducing the environmental impact of kidney care, demonstrating her commitment to sustainable medical practices.
