Dr Ahmed Munib

Dr Ahmed Munib is a highly experienced Consultant Psychiatrist who provides comprehensive, evidence-based mental health care. He specialises in the diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management of a diverse range of psychiatric conditions. With a reassuring and patient-centred approach, Dr Munib is dedicated to supporting individuals through their mental health journeys, offering personalised treatment plans that promote overall well-being and recovery.

Dr Munib completed his foundational medical training, earning his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), before pursuing further specialised study to obtain a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Psychiatry. His dedication to psychiatric research led him to complete a PhD in Psychiatry at the University of Melbourne in 2006, an achievement recognised by an international research scholarship. In 2008, he was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP). Alongside his clinical practice, he serves as an Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor, contributing to the education and training of future medical professionals.

With extensive clinical experience across both public and private mental health sectors, Dr Munib has managed both common and highly complex psychiatric presentations. His areas of clinical interest include mood disorders such as depression, dysthymia, and bipolar disorders, as well as anxiety spectrum disorders and obsessive-compulsive disorders. He is also highly proficient in treating psychosis spectrum disorders, trauma-related conditions such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), adult attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and performing diagnostic assessments for autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
