Dr Aekta Neel

Dr Aekta Neel is a highly dedicated and compassionate Obstetrician and Gynaecologist who is committed to providing comprehensive, patient-centred care. With a warm and empathetic approach, Dr Neel prioritises open communication, ensuring that patients feel fully informed, supported, and empowered throughout their healthcare journey. She believes in holistic healthcare and works collaboratively to address all aspects of women's health, tailoring her treatments to meet the unique needs of each individual.

Dr Neel commenced her academic journey in Canada, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Biopsychology from the University of British Columbia. She then relocated to Australia, completing her medical degree with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from Flinders University in 2010. Dr Neel undertook her comprehensive specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology across several prominent hospitals in Melbourne and Tasmania. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG). Additionally, she has completed a specialised fellowship in contraception, abortion, and sexual health, and holds a C-Quip certification in colposcopy. Dr Neel is also actively involved in medical education, serving as a Clinical Teaching Fellow and a Training Supervisor to help guide the next generation of medical professionals.

In her clinical practice, Dr Neel manages a broad spectrum of obstetric and gynaecological conditions. She has a particular interest in contraception and family planning, including intrauterine device (IUD) insertions, as well as pre-conception counselling. Her expertise also extends to the management of menstrual disorders, such as heavy or abnormal bleeding, uterine fibroids, pelvic pain, and polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). Furthermore, Dr Neel is highly skilled in performing cervical screenings, colposcopies, and minimally invasive laparoscopic surgeries, ensuring her patients receive advanced and gentle care.
