Dr Adam Steinberg

Dr Adam Steinberg is a highly dedicated Nephrologist and General Physician based in Melbourne, Australia. Specialising in renal medicine, he provides comprehensive care for patients experiencing a wide range of kidney-related conditions. Dr Steinberg is deeply committed to delivering person-centred, values-based care, ensuring that his patients are actively involved in shared decision-making regarding their treatment pathways. His clinical approach is characterised by a strong emphasis on patient education, supportive care, and the holistic management of chronic kidney disease.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Steinberg is a passionate Medical Educator and Researcher. He serves as a Deputy Director of Physician Education, where he plays a pivotal role in mentoring and training the next generation of medical professionals. He teaches clinical skills and professional practice to medical students at The University of Melbourne, as well as communication skills at Monash University. His research endeavours include investigating quality indicators in the practice of nephrology to help improve clinical standards and patient outcomes.

Dr Steinberg is currently completing a PhD at The University of Melbourne, focusing on quality indicators in renal medicine across Australia and New Zealand. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP). He holds professional memberships with several key organisations, including the Australian and New Zealand Society of Nephrology (ANZSN), where he serves as the Chair of Young ANZSN. Additionally, he is a Senior Faculty Member at VitalTalk, a Board Member of Stand Up and Dying with Dignity Victoria, and previously served as the Ralph I. Goldman Fellow in Jewish Community Service.
