Dr Abdullah Rana

Dr Abdullah Rana is a highly qualified Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon who is dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-focused care. He specialises in a wide range of general surgical procedures, with a particular subspecialty focus on colorectal surgery. Dr Rana is committed to utilising modern, minimally invasive techniques and evidence-based practices to ensure his patients achieve optimal outcomes and a faster recovery. Dr Rana completed his medical degree in 2007 and subsequently obtained his Australian Medical Council qualification in 2009. He undertook extensive advanced surgical training across Adelaide, the Northern Territory, and London, culminating in his admission as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in February 2018. To further refine his expertise, he completed dedicated post-fellowship training in colorectal surgery, undertaking specialised fellowship years in Adelaide and Sydney.

In his clinical practice, Dr Rana manages a diverse array of conditions, with key areas of interest including colorectal cancer surgery, inflammatory bowel disease treatment, and advanced diagnostic procedures such as colonoscopy. He is also highly skilled in performing laparoscopic and open surgeries for hernias, gallbladder and gallstone management, appendicectomies, and treatments for rectal bleeding and haemorrhoids. To ensure effective communication and build trust with a diverse patient population, Dr Rana is multilingual and is able to consult in English, Hindi, Punjabi, and Urdu.
