About Australian Academy of Robotic Orthopaedic Surgeons

The Australian Academy of Robotic Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAROS) stands at the forefront of orthopaedic surgery, aiming to become the nation's leading research, education, and treatment centre. Founded in 2022 by Dr Arash Taheri, AAROS is committed to excellence in innovative robotic surgical techniques, particularly in hip and knee replacement surgery.

Made up of a diverse community of world-class orthopaedic hip and knee surgeons, surgical staff, and industry partners, AAROS operates as a cohesive collective dedicated to advancing the field of robotic surgery and enhancing patient care outcomes. Their collaborative efforts extend globally, with a focus on teaching, practicing, and training orthopaedic surgeons and support staff across Australia and beyond.

Among their specialised services are robotic hip replacement, robotic knee replacement, and robotic partial knee replacement, utilising cutting-edge technology to optimise surgical precision and patient recovery. Additionally, AAROS offers non-robotic surgery services, including ACL reconstruction, knee arthroscopy, MCL reconstruction, and meniscal tear repair..

With a commitment to excellence, innovation, and patient-centred care, the Australian Academy of Robotic Orthopaedic Surgeons is dedicated to advancing orthopaedic surgery and improving patient outcomes on both a national and global scale.

Dr Taheri also sees patients at the Mount Lawley rooms.

It’s the best thing that has happened to me as I’ve been putting up with the pain in hip for a few years now. The only pain I have had is where the stitches are my movement range has been significantly increased thank you so very much

I have been in pain since the operation knee keeps locking up sore down the left side also in the back of it , it’s worse than it was before the operation I felt like I had a bakers cyst in there I have had them in my other knee Went too my Gp he sent me for ultrasound Then returned to the surgery 11.5 weeks after the opp I didn’t see the surgeon I saw his understudy who didn’t seem interested I asked about the cyst he said there wasn’t one Just recommended I go for a durolane injection as my knee has arthritis in it when I said about the fluid you can visibly see he said oh yea and added to the referral to get aspirated After coming out paying $160 to someone who wasn’t interested I phoned my Gp and he confirmed there was a baker’s cyst in my knee Made me feel even worse The pain is know a lot worse than before
