All Abilities Health

All Abilities Health is a medico-legal assessment service led by Prof. Harry McConnell, a neuropsychiatrist with more than 25 years of clinical experience working with people with traumatic brain injuries and disabilities. The service provides quality medico-legal assessments and capacity reports across Australia, with appointments available by telehealth and in person in Brisbane when required.

Medico-legal assessments, also known as Independent Medical Assessments, are used to provide medical evidence in personal injury and insurance-related matters, including workplace injuries, car accidents and other forms of injury or trauma. Appointments typically take around two hours to allow for the required assessment and cognitive testing, with questionnaires completed beforehand to support the assessment and final report.

All Abilities Health also conducts capacity assessments, which examine a person’s ability to make specific legally recognised decisions. The process includes identifying the decision to be made, applying the relevant medico-legal test of capacity, conducting the assessment and preparing a report with the clinician’s opinion and grounds. Prof. McConnell has advanced training in Neurology, Epileptology, Psychiatry, Disability Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine and holds Master Certified Independent Medical Examiner status.
