Associate Professor Povlsen is a leading expert who solely treat hand, elbow and shoulder conditions and specialises in minimal and non-invasive treatment.

NHS: He was a senior consultant at Guy's Hospital for more than 20 years.

PRIVATE CARE: For the last 8 years he has been concentrating on treating private patients at London Bridge Hospital. He receives referrals of complex hand and upper extremity problems from within the UK as well as internationally.

Board Member: He is board member of the British Orthopaedic Association - professional standards committee.

Clinical Interests: His clinical interests are nerve entrapment conditions, carpal tunnel syndrome, trigger fingers, Dupuytren contracture, wrist/elbow/shoulder pain, tendonitis and work-related upper limb disorders/RSI .

Research: Professor Povlsen has active research interest and has published more than 60 peer reviewed research articles, books and clinical comments generating more than 800 citations.

Leisure: For leisure he is a keen sailor and Yacht Master.
