Ms Bhavna Sharma is an experienced Senior Consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist. She has been working as a consultant since 2007. She currently works at University Hospital Lewisham, where she is the lead clinician for the Labour Ward and Day Assessment Unit. Not only this, she also holds an honorary consultant contract at King’s College Hospital and is an OSCE examiner of final year medical students at King’s College.Â
Ms Sharma has been practicing in the UK for 21 years and finished her specialist training in 2006. She has had extensive training with many of the eminent doctors in the specialty, alongside working at a senior level in tertiary hospitals around the UK, including Guys and St Thomas’ Hospital.
She has subsequently obtained advanced specialist skills training in the ultrasound scanning in all aspects of women’s health issues, Hysteroscopic Surgery and management of high risk pregnancies along with pre-pregnancy counselling. She has been the Royal College Representative for the Serious Hazards of Transfusion Committee.
Her main interests are based around all Menstrual problems (including premenstrual tension, fibroids etc), polycystic ovarian disease, Vulvo-vaginal problems (dermatoses and vulvodynia, recurrent thrush and bacterial vaginosis), pelvic pain, psychosexual issues, early pregnancy complications, recurrent miscarriage, genital prolapse and menopause and HRT.
