Mr Nicholas Morgan graduated from Charing Cross Hospital Medical School in 1986. Prior to that, he completed an Immunology and Cell Biology BSc at the University of Wales. He undertook his speciality training in orthopaedics on rotations at St Georges and Charing Cross Hospitals. In addition, Mr Morgan spent a fellowship year at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto specialising in adult hip and knee reconstruction and trauma surgery under Professor Joe Schatzker.
His practice is now predominantly focused on surgery of the knee covering arthritic and sports/trauma conditions. A current research interest is innovative surgery for articular cartilage problems and is part of a multicentre trial in Europe and the USA.
Mr Morgan carried out the first custom made Conformis knee replacement in the UK and has now done nearly 100 of these operations. He is the UK clinical lead for Conformis and trains other UK surgeons in the technique. He is a regular faculty member at the Royal College of Surgeons and has recently been appointed course director.
