I had never been admitted to hospital before or had an operation, but Mr.Aho immediately put my mind at rest. He is friendly and relaxed to deal with, extremely professional, and the operation achieved exactly what it was meant to do.

The singe most important element of my whole experience of being treated by Mr Aho has been the confidence he has inspired in me, that I would have the best possible outcome in the resolution of my enlarged prostate. Wholly due to my own physiology, my recovery was unusually long and arduous, but throughout the process his clear explanation and insightful understanding of my condition, left no room for doubt or panic. My daily life has been changed, for which I am most grateful.

I underwent a HoLEP procedure following 3 months of catheterisation and I was luckily referred to Mr Aho. Mr Aho performed the procedure and gave me my life back. I woke up after the procedure and had no bleeding whatsoever. My bladder worked once the post op catheter was removed and amazingly I was pain free. I didn't require a single paracetamol. I had researched Mr Aho before the procedure and it is clear he is the top man in this field. My experience confirmed this and I cannot thank him enough.

Having been catheterised for 7 months as the result of a very large prostate causing urine retention I was referred to Mr Aho. A phone consultation was promptly arranged at which Mr Aho confirmed my suitability for HOLeP procedure. He explained thoroughly the procedure and post operative outcome. I was admitted to the Princess Grace Hospital and had the operation that morning. I had little or no pain afterwards and had the catheter removed the following morning and then discharged later that day. Mr Aho talked me through everything before the operation and then visited me again afterwards and the following day. I consider myself so lucky to have had Mr Aho as my consultant and he is both a very kind and caring person but also very professional. I have had no problems since and he has improved my quality of life more than I could ever have hoped. I cannot thank him enough

Tev's approach was superb from the very beginning. He fully explained the Rezum procedure and other options before I made a final choice. He met me pre op to reassure and give a further explanation as to what was going to happen and what to expect. He met me post op to talk through the procedure and the outcome and how to manage the ensuing days and weeks. He continued to keep in touch thereafter and to liaise with me and the post op nurse over the ensuing two to three weeks. I felt fully cared for and fully informed.

I came to Mr Aho in trouble in retention after recent orthopaedic surgery. He carried out a HoLEP prostatectomy after I had had that catheter in for 3 weeks. It has been very successful & I was back working at home 2 weeks later-no pain after 2 weeks, good stream, no incontinence, maybe nocturia x1. I am very pleased with the result. I found his manner very sympathetic & helpful.

I can not recommend Mr Aho highly enough. It became apparent recently that I needed surgical intervention to resolve an ongoing issue with BPH which had suddenly taken a turn for the worse, resulting in urinary retention. I contacted Mr Aho's secretary Katie who kindly arranged a telephone consultation with him within 24 hours. He listened to my history and symptoms and explained the options to me in a clear, down to earth manner, and patiently answered all my questions. I felt totally reassured and knew that I was in safe hands. I was recommended to have HoLEP procedure which was carried out a week later at Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital. The operation was a complete success, and I was discharged the following day. The care I received from everyone at Spire Cambridge Lea was first class. I can honestly say the procedure was pain-free, and I havent needed to take any pain killers at all since I returned home. I am amazed at how much better my flow already is, only 2 days post-op. I need to stand back a fair bit to avoid hitting the cistern which is not something I needed to worry about for a very long time!! As well as being a very skilled surgeon, Mr Aho has impeccable bedside manner which has made the whole process so much more pleasant. He is very approachable, and always has time for his patients. I have no hesitation at all in recommending Mr Aho to anyone looking for a first class urologist. As far as I am concerned, he's arguably the best in the country.

I am a male who had been suffering from an enlarged prostate for some years and due to reoccurring urinary tract infections that would not clear up, frequent toilet stops due to a constantly full bladder, inability to get good sleep at night and bouts of bladder stoppages followed by some incontinence my quality of life had gone hugely backwards and I would no longer leave home to go anywhere. Not a miracle because the procedure carried out by yourself comes from knowledge, skill, and expert experience. You are a very skilled compassionate surgeon. Already it has been life-changing for me in a very good way. No longer do I have urgency issues, my bladder empties and I do not feel full in my bladder all the time, and my bladder empties easily. From the time the catheter came out, the morning after surgery, I knew things had changed for the better. At no time have I had any surgery pain and the only discomfort has been a little pain in my penis when first urinating and this has dissipated over the last day. This is day 3 since the HoLEP surgery and as I said earlier, no pain, no toilet urgency, and no bladder full feelings, and a positive empty feeling after urination. Since returning home my sleep pattern has improved immensely and instead of being woken by toilet urgency 4 to 8 times a night there has been no urgency only waking once per night and me *deciding* to use the toilet as a precaution followed by a quick void and back to bed and good sleep. Amazing. There is still a little blood colour in my urine but again this is minor and you had advised me this was usual. I feel well and it is very hard to believe I have just had an operation. I am taking this week off with no work involved and will be on light duties for the two weeks after that. Once again thank you Tev, you have changed my life and I will be forever grateful.
