Mr Stephen Campbell retired from the NHS in 2016 after over 26 years as a Consultant Cardiologist at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, including 10 years as Clinical Director of the South Yorkshire Regional Cardiothoracic Unit.
He is now practising exclusively privately in General Cardiology and Coronary and Valvular Heart Disease at BMI Thornbury Hospital, providing a weekly outpatient clinic. His areas of special interest and expertise include coronary heart disease, valvular heart disease and 'general cardiology'.
Mr Campbell qualified at King's College Hospital Medical School, University of London, training in General Medicine at Hammersmith Hospital, Oxford University Hospitals and King's College Hospital once again, training in Cardiology there also. He then held clinical and research posts in King's, Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton and Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA.
He is also active in teaching medical and dental students at the University of Sheffield, invited to continue teaching, gaining the award title of Emeritus Professor in the Dept. of Infection, Immunity & Cardio Vascular Disease, The University of Sheffield on 1 October 2018.
