I had minimally invasive bipass surgery under Mr Casula at the wellington hospital. I was originally advised to have the traditional bypass but I am really grateful to Mr Casula for offering the option of the minimally invasive surgery. The pros and cons of both procedures were well explained . The procedure went ahead without complications and I received excellent post operative care in both the ITU and ward at the Wellington Hospital . His cardiac nurse Usha has also been very supportive .

Dr Casula provided the best care possible for my MVR surgery. Everything was explained well and I went into the surgery at ease. I would not hesitate in recommending him and his team for cardiac care.

First class surgeon who far exceeded our expectations of what could be achieved through surgery.

He explained clearly before the surgery what to expect and also the alternative solutions if needed

Mr Casula provides thoughtful incisive care . His surgery is first rate particularly on minimally invasive procedures. His consultations are also considered thoughtful and responsive.

My contact with Mr Casula has had a profound impact on my life. This started November 2022, when I had my first consultation with him. Mentally I was in a very bad place and health wise in an even worst place, my health assessment two weeks prior to meeting Mr Casula and part of a company executive health assessment was really concerning and life threatening. I was Not healthy and morbidly obese. Mr Casula was very sympathetic toward my situation and that I was not alone in my struggles, and encouraged me to explore options to reduce risks and to opt for a minimal approach if I can change my life style, he gave me some simple things to aim for in terms of my diet and exercice. At the time on the consultation , I weight 119.7kg , my cholesterol was very high. And I was showing signs of pre diabetics. And most of my blood work were outside of normal parameters. On the day of surgery I weighed 94kg. My cholesterol was optimal and I could exercice 1.5 hrs a day with ease. The few sessions between the first consultation and the surgery, Mr Casula was very supportive and as he saw progress he pushed me to do more to have the best outcome. The pre op activities made me feel less stressed and that i was in good professional hands from the entire team under his watchful eye and coaching advise to every member of the team and at every level. I’m grateful to have been referred to Mr Casula and I hope to continue my new found lifestyle. To me, more than an expert in his field he is a transformational talent.

We would give Mr Casula 10 out of five stars if that was possible! We asked our cardiologist to recommend the very best cardiac surgeon as the surgery was complex and we were not disappointed. Not only was Mr Casula very skilled as a surgeon but he was also so caring and supportive, approachable and gave very attentive follow up. He and his team were outstanding.

Mr Casula was always very polite and helpful. He took as much time as required to explain things to me, and he regularly visited me after the operation. The procedure itself was very successful with virtually no residual pain. He used keyhole surgery to completely repair my mitral valve. I anticipate a full recovery and a speedy return to the gym and all other activities. I cannot speak to highly of Mr Casula.
