Just to thank you and your team for the care I recently received at the Cambridge Nuffield Hospital. After a long and frustrating year it has been such a relief to resolve the problem [cataract]. I have my life back.

Mr P Alexander carried out [cataract] surgery on my right eye. The result is magnificient. Thank you so much. I would also state that his 'bed side manner' at consultations was friendly and respectful. I must also mention Nurse Prisca who took me home in her vehicle. What can I say but a big thank you to her.

I wanted to write to you in appreciation of the standard of care you gave me whilst I was your patient. Not only did you save my eyesight, but you constantly treated me with respect and care. You made me feel so comfortable in an uncomfortable situation. THe quality of work was incredibly professional and made me feel like I was your only patient from start to finish. You and your team reacted so quickly to me detached retina. I was in surgery less than 24 hours after having a diagnosis and felt completely comfortable with the operation and pre-op procedures. I was amazed by the level of care and respect I was given through the entire process from all the nurses, staff and yourself. I hope you have a long wonderful career and life as the work you do and have done is totally underrated and needs to be celebrated a bit more.

I just wanted to pass on my heartfelt thanks to Mr P Alexander and his team at the eye clinic. I have had cause to visit many times over the last 18 months and have been met with kindness, information, hep and advice from all staff, nurses and doctors. Nothing is too difficult for them despite being under immense pressure of work. My operation so far has been successful and it is solely due to the skill, care and attention to detail given by the surgical team. Thank you very much. Keep up your sterling work...please!

I was fairly nervous about the operation [cataract and retinal surgery] but Mr Alexander put me competely at my ease. The operations were quite painless and my eyesight is now wonderful.

I now have glasses made up with the new prescription and my vision seems fine with them so I wanted to let Mr Alexander know the outcome. The final test for Mr Alexander showed an astigmatism in the left eye but that wasn't apparent in my eye examination although the final value for the left eye is lower than the spherical result he had so presumably the machine measured the strength pretty accurately but attributed some of the readin gto an astigmatism. The lens aligned is pretty much perfect with just a small final astigmatism in the right eye. I've had no problems following the surgery and I'm getting used to the new, much improved, eyesight.

My consultant is a genius and saved the sight in one eye following a botched cataract operation in a hospital local to me. I turned up as an emergency referral and was operated on later that day totally successfully thanks to the skill of the surgeon.
