I am a GP with a family history of prostate cancer. A rise in my blood PSA level sent me searching for a Urology Consultant with recognised expertise in the most advanced techniques of investigation and treatment of early prostate cancer. Mr Marc Laniado is exactly the expert I was hoping to find. At every stage he discussed with me the best options, many of the consultations carried out remotely as I live far from London. His secretaries arranged appointments for multiparametric MRI scans; targeted biopsy under general anaesthetic; and HIFU (high intensity focussed ultrasound) to the cancerous area. They provided me with quotes from three private London hospitals (I do not have private health insurance). The whole process has been completed quickly and without pain or undesirable after-effects. I cannot recommend Marc Laniado and his team highly enough.

Professional and great bedside manner.

I experienced several excellent consultations where Mr Laniado went through the options available to me and very patiently answered my questions as well as investigating my symptoms. He puts you at ease, was never rushed and took time to discuss everything as much as I needed. Each consultation was followed by a comprehensive letter summarising test results, options etc for me and my GP. I had urinary symptoms due to PBH and whilst there was no pressure for any particular procedure I decided to have an aquablation treatment as this seemed to have the least side effects, seemed least invasive and was quicker to heal. This is also an operation, fairly new, that Mr Laniado is one of the few experts in the UK on. The operation went extremely well I think - I only had 2 days off work after 2 days in hospital and within a week or so I felt I was back to normal. I'm really delighted with the results, I believe I have a permanent solution compared with a lifetime on medication, I've kept full erection and ejaculation ability (my main worries about any surgical or medication solutions if I'm honest!). Overall I would definitely recommend Mr Laniado, clearly an expert in his field but also due to his calm and sympathetic manner, and also I would recommend the aquablation treatment if possible over other options.

Having a negative result on prostate cancer there followed enlarged prostate which caused blockages, some pain, difficult journeys and sleepless nights. Mr Laniado efficiently and speedily diagnosed the issue and came up with solutions. In my case this was a HoLEP. This was arranged speedily and all symptoms have gone. Back to normal, which has made a big difference, which I am grateful for.

Very reassuring experience and I felt my personal health was in very good hands.

What can you say about someone who has saved your life? From the very first consultation through to the surgical procedure I had absolute confidence in Mr. Laniado. I so made the right decision in approaching Mr. Laniado and I firmly believe had I not done so, the outcome would have been very different. Quality of life following the procedure has far exceeded my expectations and I feel that this is solely down to the amazing skills of Mr. Laniado. What also makes this operation extraordinary is that its done with live in 3-d view of your prostate, with a pathologist taking LIVE biopsies and a team continually watching to spare as MANY nerves as possible whilst removing the cancer. My husband had cancer contained in the prostate, but JUST hairline about to come out of the tissues. Removing the prostate as that is what is a prostatectomy and sparing the outer nerves is EVERYTHING, and not all operations can offer this team of experts to delicately work on you, to give you EVERY chance, the best chances ahead, of not having cancer again, AND having quality of life. This is quintessential, and you cannot take it for granted with free ops or other types of operations. Of course it depends on YOUR specific set of circumstances, and Marc takes great care to analyse that and recommend what's right, with phenomenal grounded experience and evidence to back that up! Marc is so sincere, so kind, and so talented. He is PASSIONATE about this organ in the body, forever on the search to improve and combine the best techniques in the world, to offer us LIFE, living. And living with DIGNITY, and JOY. He's so brave. LISTEN over and over to his videos online, until you understand. Be brave to find out what everything means. MOVE QUICKLY AND DECIDE. Understand and decide quickly what treatment is right for you. There are more than just the above such as HiFU laser treatments. All options, he can explain the pros and cons of. At your stage of cancer he might just have the BEST answer. Trust your instict with whom you are looking for. The NHS and outside countries don't offer most of these treatments. The difference is this "If you had for example 10 years to live, why would you choose an operation that might not give you a quality of life without nappies, catheters, or a sex life?" I'm not sorry to put it plainly. The answer is yes. And my instict finding Marc for my husband was YES. So meet him, talk to him, spend the money to do it. This is LIFE you are talking about. Everything else is superfluous. I spent our life savings on this, and now he is in GREAT recovery, going from strength to strength day by day. Now we are focussing on future excercise and diet to keep any future return of cancer at bay, as we all should be doing anyway! I can't stress enough, to make your decision quickly, and make it Marc. He will change your life.
