My initial consultation with Mr Marc Laniado, Consultant Urological Surgeon, left me in no doubt about his professionalism relating to his specialist field of medicine, the diagnostics and treatment for prostate cancer. His patient communication skills are excellent. He explained everything in detail and made sure that I fully understood at all times what was being offered in the way of diagnostic procedures and treatments, and why I should consider my options as they became available to me. He is 100% with his patients from the diagnostic stage through to the treatment and aftercare. Mr Laniado is focused on the wellbeing of his patients. He is an expert in diagnosing and treating prostate cancer. He is actively researching new surgical procedures to minimise the impact of prostate surgery. I had the good fortune to be seen by Mr Laniado as under his care I benefited by being swiftly diagnosed and treated for significant prostate cancer. I cannot recommend him highly enough to anyone who has urological symptoms.

I can add very little to the glowing reviews seen on this page. I agree with them all wholeheartedly. From my 1st consultation to my Holep procedure 11 days later Marc’s expertise and communication skills were second to none. It seems obvious to say but I felt ‘’cared’’ for, his bedside manner is the absolute correct blend of matter of factness and of understanding patient concerns and emotion when facing the prospect of surgery. For my money he is the Roger Federer of Urologists. Supreme.

After having had a recent Retzius-sparing prostatectomy performed by Mr Marc Laniado (and his team) as the last process of a three year journey (having started off with the active surveillance program) I cannot recommend highly enough his knowledge, advice , support and professionalism. I have the greatest respect for people of this calibre who have dedicated their working life to helping others. With regard to the lead up to the operation and the subsequent aftercare, I felt fully informed and calm throughout and was cared for extremely well by the team he has supporting him. It is difficult to express my gratitude and admiration in such a few words but believe me, Marc is a great man to know and an even better surgeon.

Mr Laniado had an extremely good manner and explains things very well. He was abe to diagnose my problem very quickly and went about dealing with it. What I found particularly helpful was the ability to contact him at all hours by e mail and his response time was excellent. The results of my surgery are excellent and I couldn't have wished for a better consultant. I would recommend Mr Laniado without the slightest hesitation.

In September, 2013, I underwent a radical prostatectomy in Wexham Hospital and Mr Marc Laniado was the surgeon who performed the procedure on me. I would like to put on record my sincere gratitude for the care that I received from Mr Laniado throughout the whole experience. The sheer professionalism and outstanding surgical skills combined with the terrific 'soft skills' that set the dedicated medical professional right at the top of his profession are the reasons, I can say without exaggeration, I am alive today.

From the first time I met Marc he me with confidence in his professional capacity. Although the news he had to give me was not so good, he gave me a lot of confidence and reassurance. I still see him on a regular basis for additional treatment and he and I are very pleased with the excellent progress made in five months. I can highly recommend Marc as a person who combines professional expertise with a definite human understanding of any problems his patients may be facing.

It is some ten days since the procedure and now it has settled down, the improvement is remarkable. For the first time in many years I am able to pass urine unimpeded and completely empty my bladder with good flow. Additionally, I no longer need to get up two or three times during the night. Equally, my overall feeling of well being has also improved. Grateful thanks to Mr Laniado and his team at the Princess Margaret Hospital for their help and support. First rate.

Dr. Laniado has treated my associates and I who are comparable in age to me for the past 10 years. His approach to patient treatment is reassuring and understanding. I myself have on a number of occasions became incontinent, it’s frightening and worrisome but with Dr. Laniado’s assurances I have persevered and regained the assurance that there are doctors who can calm you and bring you through circumstances that are frightening for the non-professional and that these medical issues are resolvable and/or controllable. I feel very fortunate that Marc has been there to help me with the various medical problems (prostate-related) that I have had. He takes the time to explain things very clearly and is more than happy to answer the many questions that I have. His care and concern have been top rate and he has gone out of his way to help me, sometimes at very short notice. A true caring professional.

On the basis of my expeience being helped by Mr Laniado, I would say that he has some very strong strengths, namely: • excellent professional knowledge of both existing and developing treatments of urological and other areas of medicine • very good communication skills, with an ability to explain difficult issues clearly • strong empathy with patients, understanding their needs and encouraging patients to express their own opinions and feelings about ways forward. In more simple terms, he will find out what's wrong, suggest the best thing to do and then discuss it with you. His professional knowledge and understanding will play a major part in the advice he gives.
