Mr Biring is a very friendly and professional consultant. He went out of his way to organise an unexpected appointment to put some worries to rest, even though he was very busy. He always has a smile and is very reassuring. I would definitely recommend him to others.

Faultless performance pre operation and post the operation I was asleep for the middle bit, but judging by my rapid recovery that too was faultless. His cheerfulness is infectious but it conceals a steely professionalism. My GP says he is the best in the business. Either I am the ideal patient or Mr Biring is an exceptional surgeon; I know which my money is on.

Mr Biring is everything you'd expect from a top-class surgeon. He is attentive without being overbearing or familiar and his professionalism is evidence of years' in practice. However, this is not to distract from his actual work, which was exemplary. I am recovering faster than I though possible. I have not needed pain killers since week three (and I was only taking them then because I was told to) and have been walking without the need for sticks since then. I would highly recommend Mr Biring as an orthopaedic surgeon.

Mr Biring is absolutely superb but I think it would be a good idea to produce a booklet telling hip patients some of the things they may expect, like those side-effects papers inside medication boxes. For example, it was a big shock to have to inject myself in the tum every day, I would have liked that flagged as a possibility. Also, I was given to understand that after 6 weeks I would be OK, & indeed that is the experience of many, but at week 6 I am still in pain and still need a stick. It was a huge shock for Mr Biring to say use the stick for another 6 weeks. I think experts kind of expect people to have their knowledge in a general sort of way eg if I show a painting on the screen by a famous artist like Rubens, I expect my students to recognise it. I knew NOTHING about hip replacements. Everyone differs, but a faq booklet would have been helpful. eg must i now encourage my operated leg to go beyond 90 degrees? I so want advice & information post week 6. Anyway this is about Mr Biring, who is above criticism and all praise, I hope he has rid me of a painful hip. I am grateful to him for fitting me in for the op. he can add me to his fan base.

A surgeon with empathy, confidence in his skills and a good bedside manner. Is charming and caring and visited me daily whilst I was in hospital following a TKR. Remain under his care as an Out Patient. The wound is clean and tidy and has been infection free.

I have found Mr Biring to be charming at all times. His initial explanation of the procedure was & the necessity for it was extremely helpful. I would have no hesitation in recommending him to others.

Mr Biring was very professional and made me feel comfortable with the procedure and overall experience.

Mr Biring was able to explain everything about my hip surgery very clearly and took time to answer all my questions. Overall, he was able to reassure me about the procedure and was optimistic about what I would achieve afterwards. This was true of the pre-operative consultation, the period during the surgery and the post-operative consultation.

After being told I needed a hip replacement, I was pleased that my pain would finally come to an end,but I was absolutely terrified of having my op. From my first consultation right through to my six week post op. appointment, Mr Biring was reassuring and made my worrying a lot less. He carried out my operation with total professionalism and with outstanding results. I don't know why I was worried! If anyone told me they needed the same operation I would, without hesitation, reccomend Mr Biring. What a first class surgeon! As I told him at my final check up, he's my hero!
