Mr Day was very professional and informative. He set target times in terms of recovery which were very realistic, which made it easier to plan time off from work / getting around etc. He was also extremely quick to respond to any queries I had during the initial recovery period

I can only say good things about my experience with Mr Alex Day. I had a laser eye surgery moving from -7.50 to 20/20 vision and it has absolutely changed my life! The decision making process for such a big move related to your eyes may be daunting and scary but I felt well supported by Mr Day and his PA Janet every step of the way. All the risks were clearly explained to me and I was allowed plenty of time to ask questions and make my decision. The actual surgery was extra fast and MR Day provided clear explanations of every step prior, during and post operation and was also available on the phone any time post op. Alex Day was very thorough and came highly recommended from a friend. I went to other clinics on Harley Street as part of due diligence but chose Alex because of the following; He didn't rush the process BUT most importantly, with the type of issues I had with my eyes, he proposed the more safe option for laser surgery which made we feel at ease. I also had an infection a week before surgery was due and he recommended to postpone rather than take any unnecessary risks. Every step of the way, Alex was making me feel very comfortable and safe which is important especially when it comes to your eyes. The day of surgery was very simple and easy. I was in and out within an hour with all checks and tests performed. The aftercare was also superb, especially when i sent him a text message early sunday morning with some concerns. Mr Day and all his team were very professional, took time to explain what was going to be done and gave me great confidence to go ahead with the cataract operations. Mr Day also identified the cyst in my right eye, which had been missed before, and explained what had to be done to remove it. The team was very thorough and I felt in safe hands at all times. Testimonial For Mr Alexander Day 1. Moorfields Eye Hospital. I decided on Moorfields Eye Hospital because it is a world renowned centre of clinical excellence for the treatment of eye conditions. I also wanted to use the private arm of Moorfields as it functions as part of NHS Moorfields and therefore, in my view, has many advantages over a private health company. In addition, it was recommended by my optician who trained there. 2 Mr Alexander Day Mr Day was the consultant I chose. He is ranked number two globally for top eye surgeons under the age of forty by The Ophthalmologist and he specialises in cataract surgery (among other things). Also, I was impressed by the fact that he is a cataract trainer at Moorfields. At the initial appointment, he had arranged a series of tests with machines that were much more sophisticated than anything I had seen before and I was examined by an Ophthalmologist and other professionals. Then, I had a meeting lasting about 40 minutes with Mr Day to discuss the operation, the various lenses that were suitable and the advantages and disadvantages of each. Mr Day had prepared a comprehensive guide on cataract surgery. I was still undecided about the type of lens to choose and Mr Day wrote a two page letter to me which helped me come to a decision. I had to have my eyes operated on separately as the sight in my right eye was so poor. All the staff were efficient and pleasant. Mr Day went to great lengths to reassure me while he was carrying out both operations and I felt no pain whatsoever. After each operation, Mr Day rang me to check on how I was feeling. Apart from being slightly aware that I had a lens in my eye, I did not suffer any pain or discomfort. I went for my check up and again my eyes were examined. The sight in my right eye (which previously had been such a problem) measured in excess of 20/20. As a result, Mr Day was able to adapt the prescription for my second eye to help improve my long sight for reading. At the outset, I found reading difficult which I knew from Mr Day was likely. Consequently I bought some off-the-shelf reading glasses. However my reading has improved dramatically and I hardly use these glasses. Contrary to my expectations, in the light of what post operation issues can arise, I am not particularly troubled by bright sunlight and my eyes are not dry. I was able to drive very shortly after the second cataract operation. Consequently, I feel that the surgery carried out by Mr Day was so precise that I suffered less side effects than I would have done otherwise. I found Mr Day to be a consummate professional and an expert in his field. He is, by his own admission, a perfectionist and I think that he has described himself well. Having said that he has an easy manner and is not at all remote. I would be prepared to recommend Mr Day to anyone contemplating cataract surgery and any other surgery that he specialises in like laser surgery as I believe his level of expertise is of such an exceptionally high standard. I thought that the operations were also good value bearing in mind the level of expertise needed. In addition, I felt I had all the advantages of being at a hospital which is dedicated to dealing with eye problems.
