About Dr Derick Todd
Dr Derick Todd is a Consultant Cardiologist with nearly two decades of experience in cardiology. Dr Todd specialises in heart rhythm problems, heart ablation, pacemakers and inherited cardiac conditions such as hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, long QT syndrome and Brugada syndrome. He currently practices at the Liverpool Heart & Chest Hospital since and the Spire Cheshire Hospital. Dr Todd is considered national expert regarding heart rhythm problems.
Dr Todd qualified as a doctor at Edinburgh University in 1991, and went on to undertake his training at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and surrounding areas. He then undertook further specialist cardiology training at Glenfield Hospital, Leicester and undertook his doctorate research at the Manchester Royal Infirmary to gain his Medical Doctorate in Atrial Fibrillation, in 2003. He also undertook a specialist fellowship with the Royal College of Physicians in Ontario, Canada. Upon completion of this fellowship, he was appointed Consultant Cardiologist at the Liverpool Heart & Chest Hospital in 2003. In addition to his qualifications, he is also well accomplished and respected in the research community, with over 80 peer reviewed publications.

Dr Todd is extremely skilled and very professional. I met him whilst I had significant atrial fibrilation which resulted in severe heart failure. His skill and experience enabled him to balance the treatments for both, during the course of which he explained everything in detail which I understood and was comfortable with. His use of PFA ablation, which is innovative, definately assisted with a rapid recovery. I could not have wished for a better cardiologist, and there is no doubt that he has significantly transformed my life!
