Dr Richard Barraclough is a Consultant Chest Physician with broad experience of dealing with a wide-range of acute and chronic respiratory conditions, including asthma, COPD, bronchiectasis, interstitial lung disease, lung cancer and unexplained chronic cough.

He currently runs the specialist COPD service at the Wythenshawe Hospital where he serves as Lead Physician for COPD. Here he is also the Lead Physician for acute respiratory medicine and has extensive knowledge in assessing and treating all presentations of respiratory illness.

Dr. Barraclough specialises in diagnosing and managing occupational lung diseases, particularly asthma and asbestos related lung disease. His work in this subject area makes him an in-demand speaker and he has published a number of peer reviewed articles. He also helped to write the National Standards of Care for occupational asthma.

Dr. Barraclough undertakes a weekly occupational lung disease clinic and is a founder member of the North West Occupational Lung Disease MDT.
