Dr. Byng-Maddick's help was invaluable in diagnosing a bout of sarcoidosis that had been mistaken for arthritis, and in setting me onto a path to recovery. She balanced the treatment options carefully and was very thorough, seeking input from specialists in other areas where necessary to confirm her findings. She is one of those clinicians who has already assessed you and knows what to look for before you have sat down in front of her. Her manner is very supportive and I felt coached as well as informed following my meetings with her.

Rachel was extremely helpful in explaining the medical condition, her diagnostic thought process and the treatment pathway. She also was very open about assumptions, and uncertainties, as a result I had every confidence in her. Throughout our several meetings I got to ask many questions and got very well explained answers

Best doctor I've ever seen!

Over the past two years of complex health issues — (hip fracture, AVN diagnosis, hip replacement, inflammatory arthritis diagnosis) — I’ve seen many, many doctors, but my experience with Dr Byng-Maddick truly stands out because of her combination of expertise with genuine empathy. From my first consultation, I felt truly "seen" and had a sense of arriving in safe hands. I hugely valued that fact that there was never a sense of dumbing-down information, just really clear explanations. Most crucially though, she chose a different treatment approach from my previous rheumatologist, and I have made dramatic progress . I have been able to come off the steroid drugs I had been dependent on for the past 6 months and, while not yet in remission, feel much more like my old self. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr Byng-Maddick.

I saw Dr Byng-Maddick once in person and twice via video. She took a lot of time explaining my scan and about the medication she prescribed, including potential side effects. I felt she was very thorough.
