One of the best decisions to come here, I feel very strong to deal with life on life’s terms

A life changing experience! I have been challenged and supported and could not have asked for more.

There can be more to cleanliness, but I had a great time at sanctuary lodge. The staff are amazing and helpful abd the sessions are great. The therapists are great too

When I first came in to treatment I was full of fear and this made me behave in ways I wouldn’t normally I didn’t have any faith in myself or anyone around me. Tyrone the nurse really helped me and made me feel supported and this made me feel I could trust him and he had my best interests. Every single support worker was absolutely brilliant I can not trust them enough they made me feel and ease and it feels like they’re friends. They’ve genuinely helped me and given me life. Maria was strict but fair and also had my best interests at hard she gave me tough love and I thank her for that. I was given Kat as a therapist and I felt that I was given the instructions of what I was meant to do but this was not necessarily looking at me as a person and what I needed. I feel that she could of had some time for me to set aside and just to have a chat. Although I realise I was only here for ten days. As all the other therapists found time to say hello to me. On day 6 I was taken to hospital as I had back pain at the time I really didn’t want to go and was angry and upset. I believe this was meant to be and gods intervention as it was my eureka moment. I was taken by therapist Clare and by spending the whole day with her she opened up my mind and I finally became aware if the reasons why I drank and it became clear of how much denial I had been in. Clare kindly connected all the dots and I felt comfortable to finally confront what had been affecting me for so many years. I am being honest when I say she was like my saviour and I can not ever thank her enough for her warmth support and understanding. Through this I was able to gain understanding of what sanctuary lodge offered and more understanding of what the steps meant. I am truely thankful for that day and can’t thank her enough. It has changed my thoughts of myself and for the first time in my life I am able to give myself some self compassion. I have been provided with lots if support for when I leave and signposted to other agencies to help me once my recovery is balanced. I leave sanctuary lodge now knowing I am a SURVIVOR!!!!!
