Friendly and helpful admin and nursing staff. Nothing too much trouble. Room was satisfactory although a little noisy in the corridor. I found the body temperature probe in the ear sometimes uncomfortable. The ear is a delicate organ and my ear was left feeling bruised on a couple of occasions. Physio was good but items sent to my home were insufficient and sometimes not fit for purpose. I had to make additional blocks to adjust seating height.

My stay at the Duchy was, and I never thought I’d say this, enjoyable. The level of care was excellent, comforting and so kind. My suite was lovely, so comfortable I was quite sad to leave it. I mean that. Thank you to all and particularly to the ladies who prepared and served the food. So delicious. Thank you so much.

Mr Norton’s secretary on the day Sarah was brilliant. Our appointment had been brought forward by a couple of hours on the day and we were caught in traffic, on contacting her she was calm and reassuring. The staff on the reception desk were very busy but we’re calm and professional throughout. Due to the large number of people arriving, we had to queue for around 10 minutes before we got to the reception. The following day we called back and got a different secretary of Mr Nortons and she to was very helpful and sorted our query quickly and booked my operation while we were on the line.

My outpatient appointment went very smoothly with a friendly & efficient welcome, and I was treated with respect during my consultation, given information and replies to my questions as required. I felt that I was being listened to and have been referred for further tests. When I return for a follow up appointment I feel that I will be dealt with honestly and courteously again.

Pretty good but not quite to the standards I would expect of a Private Hospital On the two occasions I was there I was disappointed with the fact I had to share an area with another patient after our procedures, with just a curtain between us as the consultant discussed his thoughts with us individually - no confidentiality The second time was ok but the consultant I saw told me after our first meeting that I was now a patient for life, but when I went back to him with some new findings that I received from another consultant for my condition, he advised he could no longer help me-

Duchy hospital is a far cry from its big sister over the road. From the moment you walk through the entrance to the moment you exit the whole experience is as pleasant as any hospital visit could be. The reception staff, the nurses and technicians through to the Drs everyone is friendly and put you at ease. Fantastic place to be for health investigations and procedures.
