I felt unheard and rushed throughout my initial consultation - Mr Shafafy was cold, and dismissive of issues I felt were relevant. I had the same experience during a follow up appointment and left feeling like i had wasted his time, when i had come to see him about an issue i was very concerned about.

I was treated with care, compassion and given a lot of detail and support and time for all my questions by Mr Prezerakos. I opted for a discectomy after several consultations and physiotherapy as the first step of treatment, but was in too much pain to walk, so had the surgery and am pleased to report all of my pain has gone and the surgey was successful.

Mr Sayal is an excellent communicator and takes the time and trouble not only to explain the medical condition clearly but to set out options and likely outcomes to enable the patient to make an informed decision. He is both professional and caring.

Mr Shammaa provide a comprehensive explanation of my condition and was prepared to look at various solutions.

Mr Rajiv Bajekal is simply a life saver! I came to him in a wheelchair and I walked out on my legs. I had sciatica for over 8 months and was let down seriously by NHS at the GP’s Surgery that I have been using for over 20years. I am a Nurse/Midwife and a strong advocate of NHS! Superb, I'm really pleased with my treatment. I had a pinched nerve which radiated pain down my right arm to my fingertips all day, every day. Dr Reynolds saw me & I was sent to have scans & tests. When the results came back, they confirmed a pinched nerve, along with significant degenerative changes occurring in one particular area of my neck. Dr Reynolds then requested a nerve block to see if that could alleviate the pain, which it did, but ultimately, I needed surgery. I had a complete understanding of why I was having surgery, what was the preferred approach was the (also, what plan b might be) and what the chances of success were. I find Dr Reynolds very professional but personable as well to make sure I understood some of the jargon. The operation was a success, in my opinion, & I am incredibly thankful to Dr Reynolds for the fantastic experience so far.

After a warning from the neurosurgeon & oncologist who had been monitoring the regrowth of my meningioma in September 2023 that it required surgery & as it was a second operation it was at high risk of stroke, bleeding, bone infection, going through old scar tissue, the tumour was pressing against a large vein. My daughter suggested I sought a second opinion, we chose Mr Shoakazemi who also specialises in my type of brain tumour.  He confirmed…the risks were very high indeed, the brain tumour had grown too big for fractionated radiotherapy and surgery through the old wound of some 20 + years ago was the only option. We found Mr Shoakazemi to be extremely approachable, professional, calm, warm & informative.  I feel incredibly lucky to have had the faith on a date said to be the unluckiest day in the yearly calendar …Friday 13th October to undergo surgery with such a gifted neurosurgeon. I am (thankfully to Mr Shoakazemi) walking straight, talking straight & feeling fully blessed.

Mr Lee is clearly an outstanding spinal surgeon. I'm now at 6 weeks after my two-stage operations in April 2024 (decompression, correction of degenerative scoliosis and L2 to L5 fusion). I'm already much more mobile and independent than I thought I would be. None of the major risks that I feared from spinal surgery happened and the pre-op pains and cramps in my lower back and legs have disappeared. It's early days in my recuperation but, so far, I rate the surgery as a complete success. I cannot praise Mr Lee highly enough.
