I really can’t say Thank you enough to Dr john Phillip Dwyer and his PA Maggie Butcher . He is worth his weight in Gold, he has a great Weatherall is an exceptional consultant, marrying in-depth knowledge of complex neurological conditions with great empathy and compassion. I am so glad that I chose Dr O'Dwyer to be my consultant, As I got strong family history of stroke , I suffered earache, ear presses, numbness from mouth down to legs and feet, it sometimes all numbness could waken you up due night time. Shooting pain in different part of brain, no energy ect symptoms which I never ever experienced it before. All symptoms are really same like had a mini stroke as rest of local gp and some of Dr diagnosed. They suggested me to find a neurologist who has got stroke back ground knowledge which the access neurologist is limited. he is highly empathic doctor who really listens to the patient perspective. I never feel rushed in my appointments with him; he is polite, gentle, calm, thorough, conscientious, and highly reponsive to any questions I have. He examined me in detail without rush. explanations of some complex stuff), thoughtful about my particular circumstances , and followed up with a very detailed report . He takes the time to educate me and explained me in different way as my English is limited , ensuring me well-informed about my condition. It made me feel a such relief and no need worry about language barriers and accent. He made me felt my emotional be reassured. He showed me that his understanding patients in respect divisity way and genuinely cares about his patients. His PA, Maggie Butcher was so compassionate and is equally helpful, kind, caring, efficient professional organising appointment, After first consultation with Dr O'Dwyer, he made me feel that I am in good hands with confidence and reassured. My long travel journey two and half hour in single way from kent to reading , following Dr O'Dwyer step for appointment. It's worth it and great experience of consultation I had. I would highly recommend Dr O'Dwyer to anyone wishing for an informed diagnosis and complex conditions in special stroke back ground and outstanding follow up care.

For over two years I was tormented by Pulsatile Tinnitus. The noise was so loud it affected every part of my life. Along with the noise, I had constant headaches & dizzy spells. I was unable to sleep & depression was taking over. I was told time & time again. “Its Tinnitus, nothing can be done!” It felt completely hopeless. The surgery & work Dr Makalanda is doing, really is life changing, for so many people. After CT scans it was clear I had a blockage, in what I called my brain vein! Or Intercranial Venous Sinus. Yay, finally a diagnosis! When I met Dr Makalanda he gave me hope. Yes there were risks involved with surgery, but any surgery has risks, right? This surgery needs to be more widely available & GP’s educated that not all Tinnitus is the same! Dr Makalanda is a wonderful doctor, kind, caring & super clever! He explained the complicated surgery to me & throughout I felt in the safest hands. I will be forever grateful to him, for giving me my life. Silence now, really is golden.

Dr Theochari took the time to explain to me the symptoms I had following an injury to the head. She reassured me without patronising and took my complaints seriously. This should be expected from every doctor, but having suffered from chronic pain for two decades I know that it's seldom the case. She discussed my options for treatment, explaining pros and cons of each of the options. I'm very grateful for a colleague's recommendation to see her following my injury and symptoms.
