Mr Machin is a very pleasant and helpful consultant. I felt well informed on the benefits and risks of the surgery, plus recovery time. He strongly advised I follow his recovery plan (rest/physio etc) post surgery for Insertional Achillies Tendinopathy-Debridement, the improvement has been enormous. After 8+ years of pain my only regret is not finding him sooner.

Excellent rapport on risks and potential benefits of treatment and the time required for therapy and recuperation after faciectomy operation. A complex operation was undertaken and the potential for recurrence of the problem discussed and understood by the patient. I presented late with complex and widespread cords for Dupuytrens disease. I cannot be more pleased with the result, which has enabled a return to almost normal use of the hand and relieved discomfort in the joint areas. Dupuytrens disease is liable to return because of the nature of the disease and is not a reflection of the expertise of the surgeon but of the physiology of the particular patient. We were able to discuss options and timing of a return, should this be the case.
