The operation on my left wrist had to be delayed by a few hours because a previous patient had overrun but the hospital ensured that this was not much of an inconvenience to me. Nursing and care and all staff of a very high standard.

The care received and friendliness was dictated by the nurses on the shift. I had 4 who were consistently friendly, caring and considerate. They were incredible the days out of surgery and remembered me each day with a smile and a caring attitude. However in my last night there was a rotation of staff and I had to ask to get my blood thinners and required meds, for the compression machine to be put on my leg, blood pressure checked and to have everything required to sleep - this felt very different to the other days when the nurses were actively checking on me and making sure I had received the medications. I was advised to be medicated up for travel and again had to request this despite it being something requested by the surgeon and the physio. This felt very different and I appreciate the change in team - however, felt a definite change in attitude and compassion level from the other staff. Apart from that : there was a gentleman screaming in the night and he was quite scary to hear as he was being aggressive with the care staff. I was glad I had noise cancelling headphones Otherwise I would highly rate the ward and experience
