My appointment with Dr Siddiqui was extremely disappointing. I felt very rushed and he tried to wrap up the call several times before we had talked about some of the issues I wanted to cover. He never once asked is there anything else you’d like to cover, and in the end I left without covering all issues as he was in such a hurry. I don’t feel he explained the tests I needed properly - he just hurriedly threw names of tests at me. I also asked to explain my inbody scores. I feel it was unprofessional for him to say ‘oh it’s just a machine that spews some numbers out, you don’t need to worry about them’ when I had paid for that service. If it’s a load of rubbish to be disregarded, don’t charge me for it!!!! His manner was not rude, but in summary this was not the experience I had booked. It was similar to an NHS 10 minute slot. I got 20 minutes in the end, but I have since found out I was entitled to 30 minutes. This is a million miles from the comprehensive, empathetic GP chat I received at BUPA, twice (different centres). After all, surely the benefit of this service is to discuss all the medical concerns that keep you awake at night. I feel I was robbed of 10 minutes, though his lack of empathy would not make me want to go back to claim them. Shame, as rest of experience at LM was fine.

Overall it was good. However, the pre-assessment team when they contact me they provided misleading information and as a result had to contact the consultant’s secretary who spoke to them to correct them regarding my appointment preparation etc. I did receive an apology for it. It should be noted that pre-assessment seem to follow a script rather than listening to the patient or looking at reason why they are coming eg for a simple procedure or a complex operation. I strongly believe that a level of training is required and procedures updated before contacting patient’s to arrange a preassessment
