Ms Tara Gaffney

Ms Tara Gaffney is an experienced Gestalt Psychotherapist, accredited with the Irish Association of Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy (IAHIP). With over 20 years of experience, she offers a relational and trauma-informed approach to therapy, supporting individuals and couples through life’s emotional challenges, transitions, and healing processes.

Tara creates a safe, respectful space where clients can explore their experiences, emotions, and choices at their own pace. Her work is rooted in a deep understanding of developmental and childhood trauma, and she is particularly skilled in supporting parents as they reflect on their own upbringings and parenting approaches. Tara also works extensively with clients exploring sexual orientation, gender identity, and relationship dynamics, offering an inclusive and choice-based environment.

She holds a BA (Hons) in Applied Social Studies in Social Care and a Diploma in Disability Studies. Her areas of specialisation include trauma, abuse, anxiety, depression, grief, relationship difficulties, addiction, low self-esteem, and workplace stress. She also supports clients with LGBTQI+ issues, PTSD, eating disorders, and more. Tara offers both individual and group sessions and is committed to meeting each client with empathy, clarity, and a deep respect for their personal journey.
