Mr Michael Ryan

Michael is an experienced psychotherapist and clinical supervisor working across healthcare, academic, and private practice settings.  His therapeutic approach is rooted in Gestalt psychotherapy with a strong emphasis on creating a safe, non-judgemental space where clients can express themselves authentically - free from fear of shame, criticism or rejection.  Michael trusts deeply in the healing power of the theraputic relationship, which he sees as a collaborative, trusting partnership that supports individuals in navigating a wide range of emotional, psychological and relational challenges.  These may include anxiety, depression, trauma, abuse, grief, relationship difficulties, negative self-talk, anger issues, and low self-esteem, among many others.

Michael has worked with a broad spectrum of clients, including those supported through organisations such as the Health Service Executive (HSE), Men Ending Domestic Violence (MEND), and the Technological University of the Shannon (TUS).   He is committed to delivering professional, compassionate care and works closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure a coordinated approach for those with complex needs.

In addition to his therapeutic work, Michael maintains a strong interest in clinical supervision and personal development. His training as a clinical supervisor and his ongoing involvement with the Ridhwan Foundation reflect his dedication to continually deepening his understanding of human development.  Michael is also a registered member of the Irish Association of Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy (IAHIP) and the Irish Council for Psychotherapy (ICP). Through his private practice, he continues to offer accessible and effective support for those seeking therapy or professional supervision.
