Mr Gavin O'Neil

Mr Gavin O’Neill is a Human Foundations Practitioner and qualified Sports Therapist, currently practicing at Functional Patterns Dublin. He holds a BSc in Sports Therapy from Portobello Institute awarded in 2025, alongside a Certificate in Sports and Food Science, underpinning his evidence-based approach to rehabilitation and performance.

Gavin has developed extensive experience in the assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries, including working with sports teams such as St. Patrick’s Athletic. His professional background also includes roles in sports massage therapy and within the HSE’s Primary Care Physiotherapy Department, where he contributed to patient rehabilitation and recovery in a clinical setting.

Through his career, Gavin has explored a range of training and rehabilitation methods. However, he found that focusing on postural integrity within three-dimensional movement produced significantly greater improvements in his own mobility, strength, and coordination. This approach proved more effective than previous practices such as yoga, traditional strength training, and standard mobility work.

This experience now shapes his practice, where he applies a movement-focused, biomechanical approach to help clients restore function, prevent injury, and enhance overall physical performance.
