About Functional Patterns Dublin

Functional Patterns Dublin is a movement and rehabilitation clinic providing exercise-based support for posture, mobility, pain management and physical performance. The practice focuses on improving movement mechanics through structured training programmes designed to address dysfunctional movement patterns and support long-term musculoskeletal health.

Services are tailored to individuals with a range of goals, including recovery from pain, improvement in posture, enhanced mobility, injury prevention and increased physical capacity. Sessions include posture and gait analysis, corrective exercise, strength development, gait retraining and progressive conditioning based on each individual’s needs.

The clinic works with people experiencing musculoskeletal discomfort such as back pain, neck pain, joint pain and movement limitations, as well as those seeking to improve everyday function or athletic performance. Treatment plans are designed to promote more efficient movement patterns and reduce mechanical strain on the body.

Functional Patterns Dublin uses a practical and education-led approach, helping individuals understand how movement habits may influence symptoms, posture and performance over time. Programmes are adapted according to current ability, lifestyle demands and rehabilitation goals.

Based in Dublin, the clinic provides one-to-one coaching and movement rehabilitation services for individuals seeking a structured approach to long-term physical health and functional performance. They are also the only cinic in Ireland utilising 3D posture and body scanning with the scaneca scanning device.

My running load has increased significantly this year and I had been struggling with calf pain I have found that this has decreased since working with Gavin

Really good experience . Gavin did my 3D scan, went through all my complaints, and clearly knew his stuff. Gave me a few simple things to work on without overcomplicating it.

I had knee pain and nerve irritation on my left leg. Having had all scans I felt frustrated and was particularly interested in gait analysis. It was only by chance that I came across FP. From the first assessment FP coukd identify how my problems were related to a whole body imbalance and started teaching me the tools to identify and correct my own posture while improving mobility and strength.

When I first came into the guys in FP Dublin , I was dealing with pain , poor performance in my sport and persistent injuries that numerous physios couldn’t heal . After my first few sessions I noticed a big reduction in pain levels to points where I now had none at all within a short period of time . My sporting performances have been consistently getting better and better the longer I have been doing FP . The more advanced I get within the training system I always know where and how I can improve with the help of the guys here and never feel like I’ve hit a plateau in my training which adds serious enjoyment to it . In my time doing FP I’ve never picked up one serious injury despite being a very active person . I put this down to the robustness I’ve built using FP . I have always gained great knowledge that I know immediately how to cure any little niggle very quickly if one ever pops up . Could recommend the lads here enough , it’s a cheat code for people looking to excel at day to day activities or in sport .

I’ve been training with Renata for the last year and her attention to detail is second to none. She explains everything excellently and even though we are working remotely I’ve had huge benefits and improvement to my posture. Can’t recommend the team at FP Dublin enough.

Functional Patterns provide a more holistic approach compared to traditional physiotherapy which I’ve found to be very helpful. Tom’s patient and clear instruction has provided me with the knowledge and tools to significantly improve how I move and has helped eliminate a number of persistent injuries.

I have been taking my appointments on line. The video’s and instructions are very clear. And I work away with that on my exercises. If anything is unclear my FP- instructor will reply to me ASAP. It is very easy to make appointments on line and reminders pop up before the date.

Can Scoliosis Be Improved Without Surgery? A Movement-Based Practice

Scoliosis can be a very challenging thing to deal with, and understandably, an issue that can bring huge feelings of fear and confusion for anyone that has been diagnosed with it. Too many people are told to “observe” and wait helplessly to see if their condition gets bad enough to warrant invasive surgeries.
