Dr. Brendan Cummings

Mr. Brendan Cummings, a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his current role at the Wellington Eye Clinic, where he specialises in cataract and refractive surgery.

Having graduated from the UCD School of Medicine and Medical Sciences, Mr. Cummings began a journey of professional development that led him to become a prominent figure in the field of ophthalmology. He completed ophthalmology training with the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) in 2023.

With seven years of comprehensive ophthalmic surgery training under his belt, Mr. Cummings has a wide range of experience. He has performed over 1,000 intraocular lens procedures, honing his surgical skills and delivering exceptional care to his patients. Throughout his career, he has contributed his expertise to various prestigious institutions, including the Royal Victoria Eye and Ear Hospital, the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital, Beaumont Hospital, Children's Health Ireland at Crumlin and Temple Street, University Hospital Waterford, Cork University Hospital, and the South Infirmary Victoria University Hospital.

Mr. Cummings’ qualifications include an MB BCh BAO from University College Dublin in 2015, an MRCSI(Ophth) from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 2019, an FEBO from the European Board of Ophthalmology in 2021, and an FRCSI(Ophth) from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 2023.
