Mr. Ian Dooley

Mr. Ian Dooley is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon specialising in cataract surgery and medical retina. His clinical interests include age-related macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease and retinal vein occlusion, alongside the assessment and surgical treatment of cataracts.

His ophthalmology training included experience at several major teaching hospitals in Ireland before he undertook further subspecialist training in medical retina and cataract surgery. This included fellowship training at the Royal Victoria Eye and Ear Hospital in Dublin, followed by an additional fellowship at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London.

Alongside his clinical work, Mr. Dooley has an academic interest in ophthalmology and holds a Master of Surgery (MCh). He has contributed to ophthalmic research through peer-reviewed publications and presentations at national and international meetings.
