Dr. Yazeed AlSanad

Dr. Yazeed AlSanad is a Specialist Psychiatrist with over 15 years of psychiatric training and clinical experience. Currently practicing as Head of the Mental Heath and Wellness Centre at Harley Street Medical Centre, his clinical interests include complex mood and anxiety disorders, conditions that have not responded to conventional treatment, and collaborative approaches to mental healthcare. He completed his psychiatry residency and subspecialty fellowship at the University of Toronto in Canada, receiving training across several major teaching hospitals and specialist mental health services. He holds certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC) and is licensed by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).

Previously, Dr. AlSanad practised at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health in Toronto, where he served as the Most Responsible Physician for his patients and led the Late Life Anxiety and Mood Disorders Clinic. Within this role he also contributed to postgraduate medical education by supervising and teaching residents, fellows and medical students across inpatient, outpatient and emergency psychiatric services.

His academic contributions include work on treatment-resistant depression, neurostimulation outcomes, collaborative care and the responsible application of artificial intelligence in psychiatry. He contributed to major research programmes at CAMH, including the OPTIMUM-D and PARTNERS studies, and has presented his work at national and international forums. His professional development also includes the PARO Leadership Program and a certificate in System Leadership and Innovation from the University of Toronto.

Dr. AlSanad remains active in his medical community as a member of several professional societies including the American, Canadian and Ontario Psychiatric Associations, Ontario Medical Association and International Academy of Law in Mental Health. 

His clinical competencies also encompass capacity assessments, mental health legislation, involuntary treatment and a range of evidence-based psychotherapeutic approaches, including cognitive behavioural therapy, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, psychodynamic therapy and interpersonal therapy.
